I only use Fur Make Protector when my fur gets really dry, though. ✨

It does make my hair easier to comb through, but personally, I don’t really want to leave much of the conditioner in, so,

I’ve adjusted my washing routine so that just enough natural oils remain to let a comb glide through my hair effortlessly, even without using any products. 🛁

Some of our staff members have recommended slicker brushes to customers, and as a result, those customers have seen their pets stop developing mats all at once, so

Maybe I should ask what tools you use! 😆

However, since we’re quite strict about matting, if your dog still gets matted despite our best efforts with the brush, we’ll have to decline requests for longer cuts.

So this might not be very helpful for preventing pilling. 🥲 Sorry about that. 🥲

Last month, I attended a seminar on Bichon Frisés hosted by the shampoo manufacturer Hydra.

Last year, I attended Kaoru Nakajima’s Bichon Frise grooming seminar

Both doctors said that patients should come in for a shampoo every two to three weeks.

I suppose it depends on the length of the hair, but if it’s been left untrimmed for over a month, it might be difficult, so you might have no choice but to cut it short.

I am fully aware of that

I use it for brushing with Alter's Mix Spray!

It's a bit pricey, but what really worked on my Bichon and Poodle's mats was

ACOCO shampoo was absolutely amazing! It really helps with tangles.

I use a hair mist called KAPONO for removing tangles and daily care.

As Rusk mentioned, I’m also careful about using cationic surfactants (cationic) due to concerns about skin irritation.

It’s also essential to avoid the buildup of ingredients that make the skin feel slippery.

Kapono uses an ultra-fine dimethicone that is non-cationic and does not build up—and it can even be used on human hair! (Cosmetic-registered)

It also has a feature that removes odors and stains.

I’m not a fan of artificial fragrances, but since Kapono is unscented, I feel at ease.

It is designed so that it is safe even if your dog licks it.

It’s not a well-known product, but it’s a mist spray that our groomer developed with the utmost care and attention to detail.

The only downside—or rather, the one thing you need to be careful about when using it—is that it makes the floor slippery. 💦

Since both people and dogs could get hurt, this is something you really need to be careful about. However, I think other lint-removing sprays can also make the floor slippery, so in that respect, Kapono is just like any other lint-removing spray.

I’d like to ask a question about ACOCO shampoo, too.

I have an 8-kilogram Poodle who hasn’t had a haircut since birth, except for his face, the pads of his paws, and the hair around his paws.

She comes in for a shampoo every month, but every time her fur is so matted and tangled that it takes two hours to brush it out.

It looks like she’s been wearing a sanitary pad lately, and that’s where the matting is the worst.

I’ve been using ACOCO shampoo for over two years, but my hair doesn’t come out as easily as shown in the video when I blow-dry it.

Am I using it wrong?

I'm using a flat-tip nozzle on the blower.

Is a round opening better?

Could you please show me how to use it?

Even when I use it the way Sugar Coco showed me, the lint doesn’t come off as easily as it does for other people who use it. 😅

Actually, I’ve used Acoco before too, and just like in the video, it didn’t glide on smoothly when I was drying my hair. 🫢

I’m using a different shampoo right now, but I’d like to know any tips you might have, just for reference.

This is just my personal opinion, but feel free to take it as a reference ↓

Acoco's shampoo is

Use the milk as a cleansing milk; use it together with the mist

I use Pet Dew shampoo for the pre-wash.

There are instructions like, "Whether you're using a flat nozzle or a round one, move the blower slowly without shaking it too much..." and so on, but

I do feel that it’s much easier to deal with tangles than with other shampoos, but

I think there are probably limits to it, so

Pooh's uncut fur might be a problem unless it's trimmed down to at least around 16 to 19 millimeters.　

I feel like not cutting it makes my hair even more prone to tangling, though I guess it depends on how thick your hair is (sweat)

I think the best you can do for severe matting around the waistband is to try to work it out with shampoo.

Sometimes it glides on so smoothly it’s amazing!

It’s a bit sad for a two-hour class to be shortened even a little (teary-eyed)

That's right! It would be too much to make the big, fluffy poodle sit through two hours of brushing, so I mentioned it to both the owner and the pet sitter, but it looks like we're going to have to brush him both ways 💦

I’ve been trying out different brushes, but I just can’t seem to find one that works for me… (The FlexIt Day Matter and Terra Care brushes didn’t work either.)

Since the topic of ACOCO shampoo came up, I wondered if I was using it incorrectly (I use both the milk and the mist), so I decided to ask.

I guess there are limits to how much you can rely on tools, aren't there? 💦
