Thank you all for the detailed advice (emoji)(emoji)(emoji)
We’ll monitor the situation while giving them honey (sugar) and water and letting them rest.

I’m not sure how much help this will be, but since I had a child with diabetes who drank and urinated frequently, I made sure to include bathroom breaks and water breaks while still trying to save time. 🙇♀️

That's right! 😊
People with diabetes tend to drink a lot and urinate frequently.
Drinking too quickly can make you more likely to vomit, so
I think it’s best to give it to them in small amounts spread out over several feedings.💡
I don’t think it’s a problem since I’m not quite that old yet, but
Older dogs often have heart problems, so be careful not to give them too much water. 😊

This is really informative. I don’t know of any children with diabetes at the moment, but I’ll keep this in mind! Sorry for butting in (sorry).

My Maltese had diabetes.
About how old is the child?
-
They are about 8 to 10 years old.

When you drop off your pet, please ask about their health and whether they ate their usual meals and received their usual insulin dose.
Since insulin lowers blood sugar levels that have risen after eating,
If you take it without eating the prescribed amount, you may experience hypoglycemia.
And a common scenario is
Since the owner administers the insulin,
I wasn't sure if I'd hit it, so I hit it again
This often leads to hypoglycemia.
So please ask them if they’re sticking to their usual routine.
-
Since stress and physical exhaustion can sometimes cause hypoglycemia,
I think it’s reassuring to know there’s gum syrup that doesn’t contain artificial sweeteners.
If your body goes limp and you can’t stand up, or if you start having convulsions, putting some gum syrup in your mouth will bring you back to normal.
I’ve recently been diagnosed with diabetes, which comes with quite a few risks, and
I think the hospital is still trying to figure out the right amount of insulin for that child.
So I guess the chances of getting hypoglycemia are a bit higher.

I got a call this afternoon about tomorrow's grooming appointment...
I don't have any gum syrup (Oh no) (Oh no) (Oh no) (Oh no) (Oh no)

I’ve heard from my dog’s nutritionist that honey is okay too 🥲
-
That's right!
As long as you get some sugar, you're good to go! 💡
Or as a way to prevent hypoglycemia
Maybe try giving them a little snack while you do it? 🤔

Thanks for the advice (emoji)(emoji)(emoji)(emoji)
Is there anything I can do if I experience hypoglycemia?
-
Also, just like my child, there are children who lose their sight due to diabetes.
Since I'm afraid of falling off the grooming table, I've attached it to the wall, or
I think it would be a good idea to take some precautions. 😊

Do dogs with diabetes need special care when getting groomed? 😱
I had no idea…😱😱
I really need to study more, don't I? 🙏💦
-
I received a message saying that a dog coming in for grooming tomorrow has recently been diagnosed with diabetes and is on insulin, and when I looked it up, it said that shorter grooming sessions are better for their stamina...
